What is your favorite thing about New Orleans?

I love the people of New Orleans! Though I am not originally from here, I have always felt some sort of connection with this city and the people. I think that it has to do with how friendly and warm the people are here! It reminds me so much of my birthplace.

Why did you want to be part of the CIS team?

Upon reading about the CIS model, I was sure that this was a group that I wanted to be a part of. The mission of helping to keep children in school and preventing dropout is one that I embrace. The support that CIS provides to the students of NO can only help create success among the students!

What part of your job are you most excited about doing for this school year?

I am really excited about being a part of the CIS staff. I am excited to be a part of helping the children of New Orleans(I was away from NO for 6 yrs).

Who was your role model in your youth and what did you admire about them?

My role models were my parents. They were immigrants, who both came to a foreign country, not even able to speak the language of its people, yet they quickly adapted. They embraced all of the best that America had to offer and created a wonderful life for their 4 children. They taught us to be caring towards others, prepared us to be responsible citizens who not only had to become educated to take care of ourselves, but to feel the responsibilty of giving back to our fellow man.
