Favorite thing about New Orleans: Brass Bands

Why did you want to be part of the CIS team?

I have always wanted to be a school social worker, and working for CIS allows me to be in a challenging school environment all day while also having the support and resources of a larger local and national network. I also was really excited about the opportunity to coordinate a team of Americorps volunteers to build effective academic and behavioral interventions.

What part of your job are you most excited about doing for this school year?

I am most excited about organizing school-wide events, creating a student government, and providing group and individual counseling.

Who was your role model in your youth and what did you admire about them?

My role models growing up were my camp counselors because they were fun, fearless, outspoken, and good listeners.
