Service Delivery

During the 2007-08 school year:

• CIS provided prevention services in the fall and spring semesters, serving more than 2200 students in 9 schools
  
  
• CIS added coordinated, integrated student support intervention services beginning in February 2008, serving 296 students
  
  
• CIS initiated, connected, or supported the work of 69 different service providers and in-kind donors to 10 schools
  
  
• CIS partnered with the internationally known child sponsorship organization, Children, Incorporated, and began receiving sponsorship funds for CIS students in three elementary schools
  
  
• CIS was one of a handful of community-based organizations working in all three types of public school management structures in New Orleans: Recovery School District operated schools, New Orleans Public School board operated schools, and independent public charter schools
  
  
• CIS solicited and placed more than $234,000 in in-kind items such as school supplies, clothing, musical instruments, academic materials, furniture and equipment
  
  
• CIS provided community leadership as its staff members served on six task forces or advisory committees
